Hello and welcome!
With a background in cultural anthropology I use genealogy to investigate and personalize the past. My special interests are the underpriviliged in the province of North Brabant, the Netherlands, in the nineteenth century. In due course I have gained a lot of experience in researching the poor, petty criminals and so-called insane in this province. Although I am accurate as far as genealogical data concern, my focus is on reconstructing the stories behind the data.
The articles on this site can be read in any language by using the Google translate machine, added to this site. If you need a proper translation, you are kindly invited to contact me for this.
Furthermore, I would be glad to assist you in reconstructing your Dutch family history. Does your family have roots in North Brabant? Feel free to contact me! I am close to the provincial archives and know my way around digitally. I can translate and interpret Dutch documents for you and help you complete your family tree.

I look forward to hearing from you!
